Chinatown Festive Street Bazaar
22 Jan-13 Feb 2010
Chinatown
If you have time to visit only one place in Singapore this Chinese New Year, make it Chinatown. The bazaar, with over 500 stalls, is truly a multi-sensory experience that everyone should go through at least once. At no other place in Singapore will you find vendors hawking seasonal Chinese delicacies, such as waxed duck, barbecued sweet meats, cookies, fresh flowers and traditional Chinese New Year decorations galore, alongside stallholders auctioning Chinese brush paintings.
Apart from the bazaar, visitors can expect invigorating cultural performances at the Kreta Ayer Square. This is a popular gathering point, and also where the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple & Museum and Chinatown Complex are located.
