The first two days of Chinese New Year will be celebrated on 14 and 15 February 2010. On the eve of Chinese New Year, it is tradition for families to get together for dinner. This is known as the reunion dinner.

Launched in 2003, this popular music festival has since grown into one of Singapore's biggest music events and features a diverse spectrum of international and regional musicians. Audiences can look forward to a 10-day music experience showcasing live performances spanning genres from jazz and blues to hip-hop and world music. Artists to look forward to this year include popular "vintage music" band Pink Martini, jazz band Branford Marsalis Quartet, English singer-songwriter Vashti Bunyan, and bassist Christian McBride, who in 1992 was named Rolling Stone magazine's "Hot Jazz Artist" of the year.
