Yu Sheng is a raw fish salad that is an indispensable part of many Chinese Singaporeans' New Year celebrations. Ingredients include raw fish (usually salmon or mackerel) and shreds of carrots, ginger, jellyfish, turnip, chilli as well as five spice powder, plum sauce and sesame oil.
